About AutismHearts

Building a world where neurodivergent individuals and their families can easily find the support, acceptance, and resources they deserve.

Our Mission

Making autism resources easy to find, understand, and trust.

AutismHearts.com was created to solve a simple but painful problem: finding trusted autism resources is often overwhelming. Parents spend hours scrolling through outdated lists, while autistic adults struggle to find neuro-affirming care that respects their identity.

We bridge this gap by connecting families and individuals with verified services, inclusive businesses, and a supportive community—all in one accessible place.

Note: AutismHearts is an independent online resource directory. We are not affiliated with the "Autism Hearts Foundation" or any other similarly named organizations.

Our Core Values

These principles guide every decision we make, from the providers we list to the way we design our interface.

Community First

We prioritize the needs, voices, and lived experiences of the autistic community. We listen, learn, and adapt based on feedback.

Trust & Safety

We vet our providers and moderate reviews to ensure a safe, reliable environment. Transparency is key to building trust.

Neuro-Affirming

We support the neurodiversity paradigm, viewing autism as a difference to be accommodated and respected, not a disease to be cured.

Who We Are & Why We Built This

AutismHearts wasn't built in a boardroom. It was born out of frustration, late-night research, and the realization that families and autistic adults need a single, trusted source of truth. We are a team bridging the gap between lived experience and clinical expertise.

Seven years ago, when her youngest son was diagnosed with autism, Sarah spent months navigating waitlists, calling clinics, and struggling to piece together a support plan. "The diagnostic process felt like putting together a jigsaw puzzle without the picture on the box," she says.

Sarah built the first version of the directory on a spreadsheet to help local parents in her support group. Her perspective as a caregiver ensures that AutismHearts focuses heavily on practical needs like waitlist status, insurance acceptance, and parent reviews.

Diagnosed at age 24, Dr. Chen's journey inspired him to pursue clinical psychology and focus on neuro-affirming diagnostics and therapy for autistic adults and older children. He noticed that many directories were medically pathologizing and stressful to read.

"I wanted to build a platform that I would have found affirming and helpful as an overwhelmed young adult," he notes. Dr. Chen oversees the vetting of providers on AutismHearts, ensuring they implement neurodiversity-affirming practices and respect sensory needs.
